
ANZAC DAY 2020 - HARBORD DIGGERS
Harbord Diggers RSL sub-Branch commemorated 2020 Anzac Day in accordance with the government “Social Distance Guidelines” (SDG).
· “Planting a Poppy in Jacka Park” … A letter mail drop went to residences in Freshwater with a note from our President Sean Rout and two “poppies” enclosed in each to encourage locals to plant a poppy in the rosemary garden around the two statues bon on Anzac Day, in Jacka Park in accordance with SDG.
· We also supported and encouraged our members in the “Light up the Dawn” project with the lighting of a candle at 0600hrs on their front lawn or balcony. A Dawn Service was held by the 'Residents' at Harbord Diggers Watermark Village.

· The Australian Flag in Jacka Park was flying at half-mast from dawn and full mast at midday as well as the Australian Flag flying at Harbord Diggers.
· The Laying of individual wreaths as a family unit (or from an organisation) from 0900hrs was held at the Wall of Remembrance in Jacka Park. All wreaths layers were encouraged to pen a readable personal note which was collected afterwards to be posted on our new website
